Finding a scent you love is like putting on your favorite jeans—it feels just right. Anyone looking for their signature perfume knows that just because it looks good doesn’t mean it smells good. The bottle style has nothing to do with how good the scent is. That’s why trying and testing is the only right way to go about it.

I’ve tested over a hundred scents and picked out my top six! Whenever I wear one of these, whether high—end or budget, I get many delicious compliments.
And that’s why I want to share my top 6 fragrances with you today. So you can skip the trial-and-error and get straight to the good stuff 😉 Keep reading—and get ready to smell YUMMY!
Louis Vuitton “Symphony” – $565

Louis Vuitton “Symphony” — $565
The olfactory equivalent of a designer bag—there’s nothing quite like a signature scent. Fragrance sure is the ultimate beauty statement maker. So, if you have to splurge… don’t hesitate 😊 And by splurge, I mean Symphony by Louis Vuitton. Pure luxury!
This is a unisex fragrance with a citrusy-fresh scent. Its scent profile includes notes of bergamot, grapefruit, and ginger. As it dries down, it leaves behind a bold but elegant smell of vetiver and amber. Plus, a few Symphony splashes quickly last me 15 hours without needing reapplication.
I love to wear it when I want to make a statement—but without saying a word. I remember I once wore it to a black-tie gala and then another time to my best friend’s bridal shower—and for such grand events, I couldn’t have a better pick!
Not to forget its gorgeous bottle. Sleek and minimalist—it’ll look so good on your vanity.
Kilian “Old Fashioned” – $275
I’ll be honest—I’ve always loved the smell of whiskey more than its taste. Or even the warmth after that first sip. Okay, don’t get me wrong, I love myself a good drink—but the aroma of whiskey is unparalleled. Warm, smoky, peaty. It just feels so cozy and luxurious. And when I found it in a bottle (read: Old Fashioned by Kilian), I knew I HAD to buy it. I couldn’t be happier with my decision!
Old-Fashioned is hot. It’s rich. And it’s long-lasting. Its aroma will always remind you of nostalgic elements. A whiskey barrel… a fire in the fireplace, with logs nearby… warmed and emitting the scent of hot wood.
This cocktail-inspired fragrance is for the modern connoisseur. It feels pretty masculine in the first 10 minutes when you put it on, but after that, it gets sweeter. This is where I see some fruity notes—something like candied peaches soaked in alcohol or caramelized apples in hot brandy—all those good things.
It may be at a high price point, but I think it’s justified.
Jo Malone “Oud & Bergamot” — $228
Shop Oud & Bergamot by Jo Malone
This is such a seductive fragrance—it has gotten me so many compliments! Oud & Bergamot is a modern scent, more on the masculine side, as the name suggests. It features bergamot and oud as the main notes. Cedarwood rounds off the citrus-woodiness of the scent.
This perfume qualifies as a unisex scent. Once you put it on, you’ll smell it. It’s very powerful. Everyone around you will smell it. But this isn’t very lasting. I get a maximum of hours for this scent before it needs reapplication. (I don’t mind that, considering the delish smell!).
For me, Oud & Bergamot is an evening fragrance. It’s the type I’d prefer on a night—whether it’s date night or a formal event. Because it’s elegant, it’s not the type I’d wear to a casual event, like a BBQ.
It works its magic best during the cold months and on more semi-formal occasions.
Phlur “Soft Spot” — $99
I’ve tried many Phlur scents, and Soft Spot is my favorite. It is woodsy and floral with a twinge of musk. It has lovely touches of powder and a garden-y feel. Adding a musk base note can make the fragrance feel like a little animal so that it can be a hit or miss for some. But it’s a hit for me!
The top notes are bergamot peel, mandarin, and freesia. You can also expect some heart notes of jasmine petals and vanilla orchids.
I want to say that Soft Spot is quite like a warm hug in a bottle. You know, warm, cozy, and comforting. Yet, it is designed to evolve throughout the day. It transitions from fresh florals to a sultry, amber-type base. That’s what I like to call a dynamic scent journey.
This versatility is also why I can rely on Soft Spot for many occasions. It suits many events, including a glam birthday party and a casual happy hour.
Forvr Mood “Hard to Get” — $79
I went shopping looking for summer gourmand fragrances that don’t smell like I’ve been baking in the sun—and I knew “Hard to Get” was it.
Let’s just say this fragrance is living up to its name because I find it hard to put down! It ain’t your typical gourmand.
The top note is this zesty lemon—something I’d like to call sunshine in a bottle. It’s great for the hot summer days when you want to smell nice and fresh.
The real star is yet to come, though. *Drumroll* The whipped vanilla dries down. The sickly, sweet vanilla will not remind you of birthday cake. It’s sophisticated, creamy, and simply addictive. Like the vanilla that just grew up and had a makeover. And the way it mellows out the citrus, ah
Hard to Get is the scent that makes me feel put together, even if I’m running to the grocery store. I especially love pairing it with my other fruity scents.
Cacharel “Yes I am” (Pink) — $30
Sweet—and juicy Mhm. Confidence and playfulness come together in Yes I am. It’s so feminine and so gorgeous!
The top notes for this scent are raspberry and pear. You can also smell notes of jasmine and orange blossom. In terms of price, it’s such a steal! Undoubtedly, it’s one of the best scents I’ve owned for just $30. Another reason why I keep it for everyday use
I’m also thrilled to share that this fragrance lasts despite the reasonable price point. A few sprays last me a good few hours.
Besides applying it daily, I love reflecting on Yes I Am’s youthful character in my home. (And no, I don’t mean with the scent but with the lipstick-shaped bottle. It truly reflects its femininity 💕)
Hope you guys enjoy my favorite top fragrances!
